February 13th, 2011 by lewis

The Financial Times reports that Google is improving its hiring process. Earlier, Google announced that it will hire at least 6,000 workers in 2011, increasing its ranks to more than 30,000 employees. Google added 4,565 employees in 2010.

The proposed hiring changes include:

  • Limiting each candidate to 5 interviews, rather than 12-14 interviews in the past
  • Reducing use of brain teaser questions
  • Looking for candidates with an entrepreneurial mentality

Google is currently receiving 75,000 applications a week.
